Valeria Porokhova, the author of an exegetical translation of the holy Quran has died at the age of seventy-nine.
Valeria’s son, Khalid Al-Roushd, author and presenter at RT Arabic, announced his mother’s death through a post on Facebook.
Valeria Porokhova (1940- 2019) is a graduate of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages. She worked as a lecturer for 18 years before going on to work at the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

Valeria made the publication of her translation of the Quran to Russian in 1995. The translated publication is available in Russia, Asia and Caucasus.
