Manchester United have ramped up their interest in Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, with less than 15 months to run on the Frenchman’s contract at the Camp Nou.
The Red Devils failed to sign Dembele last summer, despite getting the green light from Barcelona to speak to the France international.
Barcelona were happy for United to take Dembele on loan but they wanted the former Dortmund man to sign a contract extension before departing.
The Frenchman ended up staying with the Catalans and he’s enjoyed his most impressive campaign to date at the Camp Nou since joining for around £108m from Dortmund in 2017.
The Catalans are now increasingly desperate for Dembele to sign a new deal, given he will only have a year left at the end of the campaign.
But negotiations have proven difficult and Sport claim United have increased their interest in recent months, with the Red Devils laying out a plan to Dembele’s representatives.
Barcelona were desperately trying to balance the books last summer and they offloaded the likes of Ivan Rakitic and Luis Suarez in order to keep Lionel Messi.
