Enugu Rangers to rest late Ifeanyi George’s jersey number

Enugu Rangers International has announced the retirement of the jersey number “15” worn by late Ifeanyi George who lost his life in a fatal accident in March for the whole of next season.

The team’s General Manager, Davidson Owumi said that the action was in honour of the great services rendered to the Club by the late George.

Owumi further said plans were in top gear to present the insurance benefit cheque to the bereaved family left behind by the player at a grand event since it was the first of its kind in the country.

George joined the Flying Antelopes at the start of 2017 and played a role in Rangers’ 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup campaign where he scored his last goal in the 1-1 draw against Al Masry wearing jersey number 15.
