SEMA Boss Urges LGA support to ease work on Camp In Maiduguri

Hajiya Yabawa Kolo, The Director General, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) on Thursday has urge the camp managers for maximum support to the newly appointed district coordinator of the agency.

Mrs Kolo, disclosed this in a private meeting held with the state district coordinators and camp managers in the state.

Mrs Kolo has implored SEMA family to extend the Team Spirit and unflinching support and cooperation to the Newly Appointed District Coordinators for the three Senatorial Districts.

Mrs Kolo and districts cordinator Honorable Mustapha Kawu (Borno North), Malam Musa Abbas (Borno South) and Rawa Gana Modu Dikwa (Borno Central) who were present at the close door meeting.

The DG made the appeal while introducing the new Appointees to the various Camp Managers across the state at a brief meeting held at the conference hall of the Agency.

Mrs Kolo, stressed the need to support the newly appointed districts coordinator to evolve a easy work among others in the state.

She noted that SEMA has been witnessing institutional strengthening in reburst structure of our operational activities and with the help of the newly appointed districts coordinator it will ease our operational activities at the headquarter level and local level.

She commended the foresight and wisdom of the Governor for restructuring the Agency to strengthen its effectiveness.

Adviser to SEMA said the emergence of the District Coordinators will strengthen the activities of the organisation at the grassroots level, hence accelerate return, SEMA presence and coordination of intervention in deep field locations including monitoring of activities of partners.

He called for maximum support from the camp managers in order to achieve maximum success in the assignment given.

He also urge the camp managers in distribution of data collected in the camp, government activities and Non-governmental organization in the state to the agency.

Meanwhile, Mrs Kolo expressed satisfaction with the high team spirit exhibited by all staff of Agency and lauded the bravity demonstrated in the course of discharging assigned responsibility which material benefits can compensate their sacrifices for Humanity as well reiterated the State government commitment to their welfare.

Mrs Kolo, also urges camp managers to also inform other bodies on her newly set of workers in the agency.

SEMA Boss said the appointment came at a right time as Government is working towards return of IDPs to their ancestral homes and Repatriation of those who have crossed the borders.

While emphasising that Government is quite mindful of their safety and dignity in the locations sighted for return.

Recall, Honorable Mustapha Kawu (Borno North), Malam Musa Abbas (Borno South) and Rawa Gana Modu Dikwa (Borno Central) were appointed on 25 January as the district coordinator of the agency for three senatorial zones in the state.
