Women Leaders from 27 Local Government area in Borno on Wednesday commended Governor Babagana Zulum, for elevating the Chairman of the State Emergency Management Agency(SEMA), to a Director General in the agency.
The Leader of the Women Affair’s Delegation spoke person, who made the commendation when she paid a courtesy visit to SEMA Office in Maiduguri, expressed optimism that the DG will do more in the area of uplifting the betterment of women, children and other vulnerable groups in the state.
She said it was also a clear indication that Governor Zulum was satisfied with her efforts in carrying out her assigned task while serving in the agency within the past three years.
She said Hajiya Yabawa Kolo was a great philanthropist who has touched several lives, especially the orphans, the women and the unemployed youths of the state, adding that her yearly empowerment scheme, where she gives out sewing machines, hair driers , relief materials worth millions of naira to households/victims affected by fire disaster in Ngetra and Zowa wards of Gubio and Muna Bunkuri camp of Marte and food items is a watershed.
Speaking further, the women leader said the role she has played in over three years had always delivered her unit, wards and local government areas of the state, as a proof that she is grassroots mobilizer and that eminently qualifies her for any position in the state, considering her accessibility, humility and undiluted loyalty to the women.
In her response, Hajiya Yabawa Kolo, lauded the women group for their support and solidarity noting that she has remained resolute in the advancement of the course of women in the state.
